Location: Private residence in Cleveland, OH Date: January 29, 2010 Investigators: Kathy, Greg, Jake, Amy and Todd
Location Description: One-thousand, one-hundred and fifty-two (1152) square foot, two story colonial, originally built in 1925, consisting of a living room, dining room, kitchen, three bedrooms and one bathroom. There is an unfinished basement along with a walk-up attic. The original house was gutted and rebuilt in 1963. Paranormal Activity Reported: Dale*, Tina* and their family moved into the home in November 2009. They are not the owners, but are renting the home.
Some of the paranormal activity that the family has experienced since moving in is:
• 2 little girls were observed by their 5 year old daughter walking through the front door in the living room. • Whispers have been heard in the kitchen. • A man’s cologne has been smelled in the living room. • Tina has heard someone typing on the computer keyboard in the dining room. • Footsteps have been heard upstairs. • A kitchen cupboard door has been heard opening and closing. • Problems with electronic equipment, including telephones and stereos. • Both Dale and his 17 year old son have heard children laughing in the kitchen. • Something tugged on the 17 year old son’s shirt while he was in the dining room. • The bottom of a glass broke away perfectly while being held by Tina.
Investigative Evidence: Investigators reviewed all the photographs, video, audio and personal experiences. It was noted that the family pet, a dog, appeared to be really restless and nervous during the time he was left alone. Investigators and family members left the home for a couple hours so the equipment could run un-interrupted. This was observed on the stationary IR camera in the dining room and the Hi-8 camera in the kitchen. On numerous occasions the dog would walk from the living room into the dining room and look into the kitchen. He would cry, but would not enter the kitchen. He would then turn around and go back into the living room near the bottom of the stairs.
When everyone pulled into the driveway the dog became excited and stood by the front door with his tail wagging. Even though he knew we were home he stayed at the front door waiting. He never attempted to go to the side door, even when everyone entered the home.
In another instance, the camera in the master bedroom, showed the dog staring toward the corner of the room where the closet is located. After a minute or two of staring in that direction, the dog jumped, turned and ran as if something had scared him.
An EVP was captured on one of the audio devices while the investigator was descending the stairs from the attic. The EVP sounds like a child saying “Linda”. It is at the end of the clip.
Another audio clipped captured what sounded like something falling or being tossed across the room. Three investigators are in the master bedroom and one asks, “Linda, are you here?” Right after that you can here something falling. Investigators could not locate what fell over.
Results of Investigation: 91 digital photographs taken. 19 hours 25 minutes of video. 10 hour 06 minutes of audio.
* Names have been changed.
Follow-up:
On January 30, an e-mail was received from Dale. In the e-mail Dale stated when they woke up the next morning after the investigation, they discovered a glass door in the entertainment system open. A large candle was discovered moved from its original position on a candle plate.
On February 4, another e-mail was received from Dale about other occurrences. It was reported that Tina saw a smoky figure in the master bedroom this morning. Dale also wrote that Tina received 5 scratches on her shin. Tina went to the doctor to have them checked and the doctor asked her if they had a cat.
On February 14 Greg spoke with Dale about the actions of their dog when he is left alone. Dale stated they come in the front door when they go out and that is where the dog waits for them.
Dale stated the scratches on Tina occurred on either Feb 7 or 8 and happened somewhere between the kitchen and the couch in the living room.
Dale also stated on February 12, around 10:30 PM he was taking a shower when he got locked in the bathroom. Dale states there is a lock on the outside of the bathroom door and both Tina and their 17 year old son denied locking the door. The other two children are too small to reach the lock.
WPI will be returning with a psychic and medium on Sunday, February 21st for a follow-up investigation.
