Tina has reported the following occurrences in the home: • Shadows have been scene in the master bedroom and hallway. • Cold spots have been felt in the master bedroom. • Doors have opened and closed in the basement. • A fan cord was pulled out of the wall in the master bedroom. • When a 12 year old son was three he complained about a boy in his closet that kept him up at night. • Tina has vivid dreams and visions of a little girl holding a little boy’s hand standing in the doorway to the master bedroom. • Tina has had two miscarriages while living in the home. One of which was a still birth delivery. Tina went to a psychic, who, without knowing any history, stated that Tina has two children around her, a little girl with curly brown hair taking care of a little boy. • “Orbish white smoke” has been seen in the hallway. • A 9 year old son has seen a young man wearing a black and white stripped prison uniform sitting on the edge of the bed in the master bedroom.
The following information was learned from research of the location.
The area the family live in is known as Rogue’s Hollow which is rich in history and folklore. Rogue’s Hollow is a much wooded area that was formerly known as Chippewa Township (formed in the early 1800’s), after the tribe of Native Americans living there. It later became part of Doylestown and was known for coal mining, which is probably how it got the name Rogue’s Hollow, after the miners.
There is a lot of tales and folklore about the area, including mention in a number of books (Russell Frey’s 1958 book: “Rogue’s Hollow: History and Legends”, and Chris Woodyard’s “Haunted Ohio”). It is reputably haunted by everything from ghostly miners, the devil, and a headless horseman. The most interesting story is about Crybaby Bridge, just a block from the Fulton’s home, where people report hearing the cries of a baby at night and where cars will not start after being parked on the bridge. One legend has it that a mother killed her infant son, by tossing the baby into the creek below, after being abandoned by her lover (hence the cries). Another legend from the 1950’s tells of a young mother who drove off the bridge in the winter with her infant child riding next to her. The baby drowning in the freezing water below. The mother supposedly committed suicide shortly after at the same spot.
Investigative Evidence: Investigators reviewed all the photographs, video and audio from this investigation. The following was discovered:
EVP 9:55 PM: While Kathy, Greg and Jake were in the master bedroom Greg looked down the hall when Jake asked, “did you hear something down that hall?” Greg replied “no, why did you?” Jake responded, “no, I just thought…” Right then, what appears to be a male voice can be heard saying what sounds like, “it’s me” or “isn’t me."
EVP 10:10 PM: Greg was sitting in the sun room when he said, “didn’t they say their aunt, eh, Elizabeth use to own this house and she passed away?” Immediately after that is said, a male voice can be heard on audio saying, “no.” Greg was mistaken, there was no Aunt Elizabeth.
UNKNOWN NOISE 12:20 AM: While investigator’s were in the 3 year old daughter’s room, a noise that sounds like something falling is heard in the hallway, right after Kathy says she felt like she just got moved.
UNKNOWN NOISE 12:21 AM: While investigator’s were in the 3 year old daughter’s room a noise is heard in the closet which sounds like hangers being moved.
It is the belief of WPI, based on the evidence obtained, personal experiences and the history of the area that paranormal activity is occurring at this location.
