Location: Private residence in Euclid, OH Date: January 31, 2009 Investigators: John, Kathy, Greg and Jake
Location Description: One-thousand, one-hundred-seventy-six (1176) square foot, two-story home, built in 1912, consisting of a living room, dining room, kitchen, computer room, three bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, one on the first floor and one on the second floor. There is a full un-finished basement. There is no garage.
Paranormal Activity Reported: Dale and Tina* purchased the home in August 1993.
According to all members of the family strange and unexplainable occurrences have occurred in the home since they moved in, in 1993. Some of the events that have occurred are:
• Smell of coffee every once in a while when no coffee is brewing. Last occurred about 4 years ago. • Dale saw a mist shaped as a human “walking” through the upstairs hallway. He was in the bedroom at the time. Happened about 4 weeks ago. • Feels like they are being watched. Happens so often that they don’t pay attention to it anymore. • A radio in the son’s room started playing on it’s own when there were no batteries in it. Happened only once. • A visiting nurse came out to home to do an EKG. The EKG machine began to run even before it was plugged in. • The faucet in shower was turned sideways. • A plant and plant stand on the stair landing was moved about 3 feet. • In the daughter’s room, scratching and tapping are heard in the walls. • Footsteps are heard in the upstairs hallway. • Music is heard coming from the kitchen. • A statue of an angel flew across the daughter’s room from the dresser and broke while she was in room. This happened when she was about 13 years old. • Precious Moments in the daughter’s room have been found on floor, unbroken. They are kept on a shelf on the wall. • Dale has heard someone walking on the first floor when he was in the basement doing some woodworking, when no one else was in the house.
Investigative Evidence: Investigators reviewed all the photographs, video and audio. Nothing that can be classified as paranormal was captured on any device. A possible explanation for some of the occurrences that have happened in the home could be the high EMF fields that were recorded, especially when the furnace was operating and the high EMF readings in the dining room. This explanation however cannot be used to explain everything that has occurred. It is just one possible explanation for some of the occurrences.
At this time it is WPI’s opinion that there is not enough evidence to classify this house as being haunted. Follow-up investigations would be needed in an attempt to gather more concrete evidence.
Results of Investigation: 118 digital photographs taken. 12 hours 11 minutes of video. 3 hours 58 minutes of audio.
