Private Residence
North Olmsted, Ohio
Location:           Private residence in North Olmsted, OH
Date:                    August 29, 2009
Investigators:  John, Kathy and Greg

Location Description: Two-thousand, fifty-two (2052) square foot, two story colonial, built in 1964, consisting
of a living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, four bedrooms and 2 ½ bathrooms. There is also a two
car attached garage and a finished basement.
Paranormal Activity Reported: Dale and Tina* purchased the home in October 1995.

Dale and Tina related the following occurrences.

One night their 18 year old son woke up petrified in the living room. He fell asleep on the floor near the
television.  The television is a 70-inch plasma. He became terrified and ran upstairs and was very emotional.
This occurred within the past week prior to the investigation.

Doors will be found open even after they’ve been closed. This has occurred to the sliding door in the family
room and most recently the refrigerator and freezer doors located in the kitchen.

Objects have also disappeared and reappeared and moved from one location to another. A television remote
went missing for several weeks then turned up on the family room floor after Tina heard a noise in that room.
Stuffed animals from a bedroom were found in the hallway and pinecones located on the stairs have
mysteriously fallen. A paper receipt was observed to fly up into the air from a kitchen counter even though
there was no breeze in the house at the time.

Footsteps have also been heard on the first floor, while they were in the basement and no one else was in the
house.

The dining room light will go on and off by itself.

Dale’s radar detector will go off mysteriously when he pulls in the driveway.

Investigation: Investigators (John, Kathy and Greg) arrived at the location at 6:00 PM and were greeted by Dale
and Tina. There were no paranormal impressions felt by the investigators during the pre-investigation. The
investigators were given a tour of the house and briefed on the paranormal occurrences. Dale and Tina stated
no paranormal occurrences have occurred on the second floor or the basement. All occurrences have occurred
on the first floor as indicated above.
Base EMF and temperature readings were taken in all rooms on the first floor. It was noted that there were
high readings on the south side of the living room (6.5), the dining room (8.2), and the kitchen (3.5). Other
areas of the first floor ranged from .1 in the bathroom to 1.6 in the north half of the living room.

A total of three stationary video recorders were set up throughout the house. Two stationary digital audio
recorders were also set up in the house. One in the dining room and the other on the stairs. At 7:05 PM all of
the recorders (video and audio) were started and the homeowners and investigators left the house so the
recorders could run uninterrupted.

The homeowners and investigators returned to the house at 8:31 PM. It was noted that the dining room light
was off. The light was on when everyone left.

An EVP session was completed in the dining room.

EMF readings were then taken in other areas of the house. EMF readings on the second floor ranged from 0.0
to .5. Other areas on the first floor, specifically near the television showed readings of 25.0. Readings on the
wall between the dining room and kitchen showed readings of 40.0. This is the wall where the switch is located
for the dining room light. EMF readings were then taken in the basement directly under the south portion of
the living room. An EMF reading of 70.0 was found directly under where their son awoke in the living room
while laying on the floor as mentioned previously.

During the investigation photographs were taken using the digital camera. Audio recorders were used
throughout the investigation in attempts to capture EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomenon).

The investigation concluded at approximately 9:00 PM. All of the equipment was packed away for later
analysis. The investigation lasted approximately three hours, which included the pre-investigation.

Investigative Evidence: Investigators reviewed all the photographs, video and audio. At approximately 7:24 PM
a faint tap was heard on the video recorder in the living room. At the same time, the Zoom audio recorder in
the dining room captured a possible EVP. The EVP sounds like the name “Alex”. At approximately 7:53 PM. the
light in the dining room was observed to shut off. About a minute earlier the light was observed to dim and
flicker.

No other evidence was captured on the photographs, or audio and video recorders.

At this time it is the belief of the investigators that the high EMF readings are a possible cause of the
paranormal occurrences in the house. This could possibly explain why the dining room light will go on and off
on its own. This could also explain the feelings their son felt when he woke up on the living room floor. It can
explain some of the occurrences in the house, but not all, such as the remote control disappearing, and then
reappearing. It was strongly suggested to Dale and Tina that an electrician be contacted to check the wiring in
the house.

It is the belief of WPI that there is not enough evidence at this time to classify this house as being haunted. It
is suggested that Dale and Tina keep a log of all unusual occurrences in the house, especially after the wiring is
checked and keep WPI updated.
