Investigators: Kathy, Greg, Jake and Amy
Location Description: Nine-hundred and eighteen (918) square foot, two story, duplex, built in 1960,
consisting of a living room, small dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms and one bathroom. There is an
unfinished basement and an attached one car garage.
Paranormal Activity Reported: Dale*, Tina* and their 2 ½ year old daughter moved into the duplex
about 2 ½ years ago. They are not the owners, but are renting one-half of the duplex.
According to Dale and Tina there have been numerous strange occurrences that begin during each
December and increase for the next several months before subsiding. Most of them happen after 9:00
PM. Some of those occurrences are as follows:
• Knockings have been heard, especially from one of the closets in Dale’s and his daughter’s bedroom.
• His daughter is afraid of her room. She will not sleep there. She states there is a lady, that she calls
the “ladybug” that hides in her room and jumps out and scares her. She will however sleep in her parent’
s bedroom with no problems, while the parents sleep downstairs.
• Footsteps have been heard coming from the second floor.
• Cold spots, when the temperature in the duplex was 76 degrees, are felt.
• Television in their daughter’s room has been found plugged in after Dale has unplugged it.
• Their daughter has been heard talking with someone upstairs.
• The door to the basement was observed opening on its own.
• Tina feels ill in the duplex.
• A negative energy is felt in the duplex.
• Their daughter was walking up the stairs one time when she stopped, screamed and turned around
and ran. She stated it hurt her fingers. Their daughter’s ring and pinky fingers were “beet red”.
• Dale was sleeping in bed in his bedroom when the sliding closet door slammed open, waking him up.
• Dale was in bed when his foot was lifted in the air and dropped.
Investigative Evidence: Investigators reviewed all the photographs, video, audio and personal
experiences.
During the investigation Jake stated there were strange noises coming from the daughter’s bed that
sounded as if the blankets were being moved.
Strange noises, taps, raps, etc were heard in the daughter’s room.
Kathy and Amy were investigating the daughter’s bedroom where Amy was sitting on the bed, when the
bed, according to Amy, raised and dropped to the floor. This was captured on the Zoom audio as well as
the DVR camera that was set up in the bedroom. The sound of the bed dropping was very loud and was
heard by Jake, Greg, Dale and Tina in the basement. It was so loud; Jake stated it shook the ductwork in
the basement. Amy further stated that the covers started to move under her prior to the bed raising.
Closer examination of the bed incident showed Amy sitting on the bed not moving. No covers can be seen
to move nor can the bed be seen to rise. However, the footboard can be clearly seen slamming back down.
After the bed slams down Amy immediately gets off the bed and is seen to be visually shaken. Kathy is
heard to scream right after the bed slams down (Kathy has the Zoom earplugs in her ears). Kathy then
asks Amy what happens. Amy states, “it was the bed”. Kathy immediately starts laughing as she thinks
Amy broke the bed while she was sitting on it. When Amy told Kathy what happened she radioed for the
other members to come upstairs into the bedroom.
At this time it is unknown what caused the bed to rise up and drop.
WPI is planning to do another investigation at this location.
Results of Investigation:
130 digital photographs taken.
16 hours 17 minutes of video.
11 hour 22 minutes of audio.
